Keyboard users use F7 to enter this menu.
This window contains the moves. It will also contain a hintmove if available and if activated (see Show hint). Clicking on a displayed move will force REBEL to go to that specific move. Number of moves is flexible. You can also choose between character or figurine representation of pieces (see Piece-icons or Characters)
This window contains move comments if available. During calculation this window will display the calculated variations, score and nodes (see Info). When REBEL still uses its opening book, this window displays the next available moves: clicking on one of them will execute the move.
Width and number of lines are flexible.
This window will show extra info depending on what you have configured (see Info). Number of lines is flexible (see Number info lines). This window will also be used when you edit a user book (see Edit User book)
With this window active, REBEL will show you how the program judges the current position. Four remarks are given about important squares of the current positions, and four remarks are given on important aspects of the current position. For a more detailed explanation, we refer you to the README-file. Number of lines is flexible.
REBEL 10.0 supports FOUR clipboards. Here you can temporarily save a game or game fragment. This is very useful for the analysis of games or the analysis levels. You can easily switch from one game to another.

If you don't remember which games are stored in the clipboards, you can activate this window. The 4 clipboards will be shown to you. This window is particularly suitable for analyzing games on the analysis levels, but you can also use it on normal levels.
This window will show you data of the encyclopedia you have loaded. Width and number of lines are flexible.
Depending on the number of lines and the width of the window you have defined, you will be supplied with information. The first line(s) will contain the possible next move(s) that are found in the encyclopedia. Example from the beginning of a game:

The second set of lines contains again the specific move(s) and an overview of how many times the world's strongest and well-known chess players used it. This (besides the % and quick Rebel score) is your main guide to judge if a move is good enough to play. Bottom line, if Kasparov has played a move 11 times then it is logical to assume the move is ok!
You can scroll through this information with the (arrows of the) scrollbar.
Clicking on a specific move will execute this move.
This will enable or disable the display of the big REBEL button (for contents see Using the buttons.) and the buttons for page up and down through the move list.
This will enable or disable the display the name and time of the player playing as white.
This will enable or disable the display the name and time of the player playing as black.
There are a lot of extra buttons available with REBEL 10.0 resulting in more user comfort.
There are 4 rows of 6 buttons each available for any pull-down item you wish. For optimal comfort, define your most-used option under these buttons. For defining see Define buttons.
With these buttons you can easily add comments to your moves. Just click on a button and that comment will be added automatically to the current move. The buttons have the following symbols with the corresponding meaning:
! > Good move !! > Excellent move ? > Bad move ?? > Blunder !? > Interesting move ?! > Dubious move
If you want to remove such a comment from a move, simply click it again.
With these buttons you can easily add evaluations to your moves. Just click on a button and that evaluation will be added automatically to the current move. The buttons have the following symbols with the corresponding meaning:

This option enables or disables the display of the board coordinates. As an exception, these coordinates can be overlapped by other windows.
REBEL supports 4 board sizes. Only when the size is 100% does loading another set of pieces (see Load piece sets.) make sense. Also blindfold chess will only work on a 100% board.
Enables you to increase or decrease the number of moves to be displayed.

Enables you to increase or decrease the number of variation lines in the comment window to be displayed.

Enables you to save current layout to a new or existing file with extension ".LOT".
Enables you to load a different layout you previously saved. These files need to have the extension ".LOT". After installation you will find a lot of pre-defined "layouts". Just try them out. They contain various screen layouts for all kind of circumstances you might prefer.
REBEL has 5 predefined layouts for you. You can choose one of the five sets of the submenu. These layouts are also available via a short cut: SHIFT-F1 for set 1, SHIFT-f2 for set 2 etc.
